An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
